Birthday Celebration for....... ME??!?!?

I have the sweetest ever friends! I turned 32 last week (wow) and we went to dinner. Next thing I know, they showered me with happies, gourmet cakes and more! I must say that I haven't celebrated my birthday with friends in years! It was a very fun night. I felt weird getting all that attention!

Joanna made the cutest happies...

Love!

Not sure what I thought was so funny!

Yes, Maurie made sure there were 32 candles on my cake. Holy smoke!! (pun intended). THANKS, M!!!

The ladies! Paula, Joanna, Justice, Brooke, Maurie, Lisa & Leslie!

And Jonathan took me to the bed & breakfast, Ahern's Belle of the Bends, in Vicksburg! The picture above was at the Old Courthouse Museum. We had so much fun relaxing. We visited the Vicksburg National Military Park Saturday afternoon.

"Vicksburg is the nail head that holds the South's two halves together...Vicksburg is the key"

Two statements, two Presidents, both aware of the importance of the city on the Mississippi River. President Davis knew it was vital to hold the city for the Confederacy to survive. President Lincoln wanted the key to gain control of the river and divide the South. Vicksburg National Military Park commemorates this campaign and its significance as a critical turning point of the Civil War.

Movie Night Fun!!

Mrs. Maurie, Ella's Mom, is the coolest of cool when it comes to organizing fun nights for the girls because she is beyond talented and creative at ALL things. Below was a FROZEN night hosted by Mrs. Maurie and Ella.:) All equipped with milkshakes, skittles, popcorn, sour patch kids, m&ms and more!

Cheeeeese! Say "Frozen!!!" Ceci, Ella, Lucy Kate, Vera

The divas drinking their shakes and munching on popcorn...

Ohhhh, these kiddos! They are something else!

SOOOO Cecilia and Les have been the craziest little rascals lately. I have blogged a few times but haven't written those two cuties latest funnies etc. In the past few weeks, Les has taken off in language development. He repeats EVERYTHING. It is precious.

Cecilia continues to tell me, "I want God to come to my house. I want to see him." "Jesus is Heaven." "I love Jesus. He's my friend. I want him to come to my house." My replies aren't probably always the best, most spot-on but I try to explain!!

C is on a "stranger" kick. I told her one day about strangers and now she calls everyone out as a "stranger." Seriously, we will be at lunch and someone walks by to get to their table and she starts pointing and saying "Mommy, dats a stranger. Dats a stranger." Some people look and smile and others are pissed. The ones who look pissed get my reply of "Yes dear, they ARE strangers." Ha. But the dilemma ensues that - why would Mommy talk to the waiter if he's a stranger?? She really asks. Ok, so she's right and observant.:) I value her analytical abilities.:) So now my discussion is such, you can only talk to strangers if you are with Mommy or Daddy. Geez, this parenting gig is tough! And confusing!

The weather was bad recently and we had some tornadoes come through. Typically I wouldn't be so terrified of tornadoes but in recent years there have been some very severe ones that have worked their way through the SE. One afternoon Mr. David called and told me to get in a safe spot. I was very alarmed because he doesn't normally call! Then I had another friend text me about a tornado spotted in my area of Hattiesburg. So, I shoved the kids and myself under the stairs (with suckers and animal crackers). I told them all about the tornado. C kept either saying "tornado" or "matteo," whichever she got out first. She would say "the matteo isn't going to get us. He is nice. He won't hit our house; he will hit Shelby's house." OMG. That's our neighbor and one of her BFFs!!

Yesterday Ceci said, "Les is my prince and I want him to dance with me."

Ceci always throws her arms out or hugs my or Dad's neck says "this is our family" anytime the four of us are together and having fun. It is SO sweet. She does this a lot. I love it.:)

Ceci will tell me "stop being mean to Dad" anytime I slightly change the tone of my voice. Ummm, what about ME?!?! She seems to only acknowledge this ONE WAY.

Both their favorite lately is 32 degrees ice cream. Daddy takes her a lot, as do I! Now that Les is older and eats anything, we take several trips to eat Mexican (also their favorite. Les and Ceci both have to have their OWN cheese dips) then soft yogurt at 32 degrees ice cream. She won't say "32 degrees" but "32 degrees ice cream." Last Monday, we were the FIRST people at Mexican (10:50 am... OMG - late breakfast??), so we were done before the ice cream shop was open. I got them out, got to the door and fail... it was closed. It didn't open for 30 mins. As I ripped Les away from the shop, he was screaming "icccce cweaaaam, icccce cweeaaaammmmm!!!" We decided to pick up Dad's dry cleaning then go back. These kids do not forget!

Les, oh sweet Les... Some of our "Les talk:"
I dub woo = I love you
Tweet = sweet
Mike = Monsters Inc. (Les no longer loves this one as much as Frozen)
Fozen = Frozen (the movie)
Ice = 1st song on the Frozen CD (His current favorite song)
Ginnn = Again (He insisted on listening to "Ice" 8 times in a row with dad the other day)
Meeemo = Nemo
Weeegles = The Wiggles
Sheeshee = Ceci
I dowee = I'm sorry
Yesh = Yes
Mammish = Mam-ma
Weady, gooo = Ready, go (as he throws the ball)
Ahhmoss = Almost (when he doesn't quite get the ball to us :))
Holl Doo = Hold You (He says this instead of "hold me" when he wants to be held :)

Les can count to 10! He could barely make out the words but starting counting to ten a few weeks ago. He also knows every body part! He's so cute.

Cute until he peed down a floor air vent this week. 5 mins after taking his diaper off (because he made a huge mess at lunch), I hear "MOOOM, MOM!!" Ceci pointing out Les swinging back and forth over an air vent tinkling down the vent and all around it. He thought it was hilarious. Then he decided to step in it and run off.

He's a thumb sucker...Big time. Ceci wasn't.

Ceci told me a few weeks ago "don't spank my baby brother." This was only said one afternoon when they were actually getting along, and said that one and only one time. The norm is bickering but they do sometimes show love. Example, I was on the phone today; they started fighting, and C hit him in the face with a bowling pin. If he even cries, it's just for a second then gets retaliation immediately. Total and completely boy.

Les loves ketchup. He dips everything in it.... including bananas. Mmmmm. Gross.

C told me she "wanted to fly way up in the air." I told her to close her eyes and pretend she was. She said, "no, then I won't be able to see!!"

She always calls me "lil Mommy." Hey "lil Mommy." I love you, "lil Mommy."

Happy Birthday, Mam-ma!!

We had a SUPER FUN birthday celebration for Mam-ma at the house. We haven't been able to meet her new friends (since retirement:)), so we thought what better way than to have everyone over and celebrate! Our photographer, Sam, put together a sweet slideshow of pics, old and new, for her. It was a great turn out, and the catering was yum!! We used the company who Jones Companies used for their Christmas party. Happy Birthday, Mam-ma! We love you and appreciate all you do!!
