Well, it's February and I'm just getting on blogging! I wanted to get the latest in before the arrival of our little boy, Joseph, in FOUR days!! I can barely believe that he will be here so soon! I'm so excited about meeting him!!
The kids have been SO SO sweet and fun lately. I love this stage!! I don't want them to grow up.:( I love hearing Les' little sweet baby voice when he talks. Gosh, they are too cute!!!
A few latest funnies and things:
The other day Les said "No Mommy's not da boss, Daddy's the boss," which he says a lot and that perturbs me... I'm the boss!!:) Haha. Well anyway, I kept asking why is Daddy the boss? He said "because we are boys." HA! He is on this boy vs girl kick. I can't even use Cecilia's hairbrush on him because he says "no, dats for girls."
They love sour gummy worms!
Les decided a couple weeks ago to take his diaper off before naptime. I saw on the monitor that he wouldn't lay down, so I went to check on him. He had taken it off and tinkled all over the mattress, his pillow, the top of his racecar bed, etc! He must have really had fun getting it EVERYWHERE! When I got up there he said, "I saweee Mommy. It was jus an assident!"
I told Les he was a "hoot" the other day because he was cracking me up. He said, "I not hoot. I'm Les!"
When someone asks Ceci how she's doing, she says "I'm 4." :):)
At Mother's Day Out, they rarely get to play together unless it's a bad weather day and they happen to be in the gym at the same time. A couple weeks ago they got to see each other and Les' teacher sent me a picture of them playing. When it was time for Les to leave, he got very upset and was crying. He surprisingly didn't want to leave his big sister's side!! The teacher said Ceci gave him a hug and said, "it's ok little buddy, I'll see you at the car." How SWEET.:):)
The other day I was putting a bracelet on Ceci and I couldn't get the clasp quite right. I was having some difficulty. She looked up and said, "Mom, this just isn't working out." Oh my stars... diva, much!?
They both know our neighborhood and home address! Every time we turn into the neighborhood (well 8/10 times), I say, "where do you live" or "what's your neighborhood" then "what's your address?" And they both blurt it out. Sometimes I pick the person who will say it first and even Les gets it right!:)
Les' big response phrase these days to everything. Where's your toy car? Where's your brush? Why did you hit your sister? Why didn't we go on the potty (rather than in our diaper)? His reply, "ummm, I not sure."
Ceci had her 4 yr well-baby check-up recently and was in super health! She did great. She was in the 87th percentile in height and 37th percentile in weight. Tall and skinny!! And gorgeous, if you ask me!:):)
Les and Daddy play tackle football every night before bed. Les LOVES it. He knows to wait until Daddy gets home to tackle, punch or push someone (most of the time). We especially have made him listen lately so he doesn't accidentally kick me in the tummy! Lots of fun tackle pics are below. Ceci also tries to join in on the fun. Poor thing, she is a typical girl (like her Mommy) and gets hurt and upset very easily. Sweet girl
Overload of pics and captions below!!
Les insisted on wearing his "PLANES" backpack to school a few weeks ago (empty:)).
A few of us friends celebrated our friend Leslie's birthday recently!! The cake was gorgeous and dinner was so fun.
A belly pic. This was maybe in the early 30s weeks...
Not sure if you can see Vera and Ceci snuggling in the top left corner of this pic... A teacher caught them on camera! So sweet.
There they are again.:)
Uh oh, so the bug got us again about a month ago. First, Les started throwing up IN the car on the way home from Mary Starks' baptism in Mobile, followed by Ceci all over the couch the minute we got home. FIVE days later (crazy length), I got sick and ended up on an IV of fluids overnight. YUCK. The pic above was sent by Jonathan Jones as a reminder of what these two looked like in Houston (at the hospital) after contracting the bug. This was the day after Ceci's 2nd birthday party.
The recent picture of recovery...
Ceci obviously took a little longer than Les who grabbed this bag of chips off the counter and ran laps around the house eating them!
Girls Beach Trip!! We all went to Maurie's condo in Orange Beach in Jan. Such a relaxing get-away!! Leslie, Lisa, Joanna, Maurie, Justice & Brooke
Mam-ma & Papa kept the kids overnight when I got the bug. What would we do without Mam-ma & Papa!!? Be in serious trouble! Ceci & Les were snuggled up with Papa watching "Happy Feet!"
A little 32 degrees yogurt action...! I think their cheeks are stuffed with sour gummies! They always eat the toppings first!!
The pic of them meeting up in the gym! Sweet kiddos!!
Les and I being silly!!
He's my boy!!
My sweet friends from the Coast drove up for dinner and we had SO MUCH fun catching up. Lots to be discussed at this dinner.;)
Caroline, Justice, Lauren & Lyndsey!
Sweet kiddos during their favorite... bathtime!!
Using a fun watercolor app....:)
Daddy took the kiddos to the zoo after breakfast a couple Saturday mornings ago. How nice for both Mommy and kiddos!?!?:):) Ceci & Les have a current obsession with jaguars every since this "Jade Jaguar" episode of "Sofia the First," where they go on an adventure.
Les & the jag!
Ceci has been doing so good on her bicycle!! She will be a pro with no training wheels before we know it!:)
Well, Jonathan and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary earlier this month! Cannot believe we've been married for 7 yrs and together for 11!! It has truly flown by. I am continuously amazed at this man and how awesome he is. He's very understanding and has helped me grow as a person spiritually and just in general. He gives the greatest guidance to me, and I could not feel more blessed that this is the man who will raise my kids with me. He is very hard working, fiercely loyal, ethical, dependable and always forgiving. I LOVE HIM and thank God every day for him.
Celebrating our anniversary with a little dining at Jonathan's new favorite restaurant spot, Indian Delight.:) So so delightful he always tells people!;)
My sweet, sweet Hattiesburg friends hosted a luncheon for me to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of baby Joseph!! I told them to keep it low-key, but Maurie and Brooke went all out. It was GORGEOUS!! And so much fun!!
These little "Hello World" cards for guests to fill out were just precious!!
Love these ladies!!
TACKLE TIME!! "I get you, Daddy!!!" Looks like Les decided to tackle his sister and Dad in the same motion!
Les being silly at his Valentine's Day party at school before a sweet friend started throwing up. When that happened, Mommy and Les quickly left and didn't stay for the party.:( After last month's AWFUL bug, I didn't want to take any chances.
Before the sickness! Sweet little Les. He's the youngest child in his class, but his teachers say he definitely holds his own.:):)
OH MY STARS! Jonathan did SO SO good. I have been wanting an emerald and diamond ring for quite some time, so for my anniversary/push prize/Valentine's, he surprised me with a stone, and I picked out the setting. Here's how it turned out. I absolutely love it!!
"Make some noise"... One "Sofia the First" episode features trolls who bang their clubs and sing a song "make some noise." So these three had baseball bats out "making some noise" to the song. Very cute!!
All of the sudden Les has developed a love for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I wish the cartoon weren't so advanced and violent or else he could actually watch it too! These little turtle toys came from McDonald's! Being a psycho, we couldn't collect them all at the restaurant because we honestly aren't just extreme lovers of McDonald's, so what did I do?!? Embarrassing. I went on eBay and bought the set!
He loves them!! He's working on his ninja slang. Rather than saying "hi ya" he says "hee ya"....:)
Just a little "Duhon Duo" action with our sitter, Mary Kathryn!
All nice and clean and cavity free!!:)
I got these fashion glasses online the other day for no apparent reason. Not only are they not prescription but they don't even have tinted lenses for outside use.
Must. Stop. Buying. Unneccessary. Items. For. Kids.
But he did love them!:)
Daddy picked him up these cowboy boots a few weekends back. Every little boy needs some cowboy boots!!!
Recent belly pic! I think this was 35 wks. I am READY to go!!
Ceci was at Mam-ma's practicing!! SO SWEET!!
Uh-oh!!! Ceci tried to do a "superhero," as she put it, off the two step ladder in the bathroom and ended up laid out face first in between the toilet and the wall. She hit her face on the toilet and down she went. Poor girl! She isn't the most mobile, athletic child (yet!!).
