Based on our several school tours, deep thought and prayer, we decided on Benedict Day School, a smaller Christian school with a mission of "providing an atmosphere that fosters success at the highest level for students that are driven to learn..." Jonathan hit it head on when he said his goal was to find a school where our kids could be excited to learn. I think we found it!
Cecilia had THE best time her first year of school! Oh my goodness. I can't believe we will have a first grader soon. She truly had a whirlwind of a year, and it was awesome! She excelled in all aspects, particularly her artistic abilities. We knew she was talented in this area, but starting school exposed her amazing ability in art. She kept old friends and made new, and I hope that's her trend going forward. She doesn't bully nor supports the bullies. She includes people. Everyone. She loves to hunt for rocks and "fossils" on the playground rather than swinging. She loves soccer and told us how many goals she scored. She gives hugs, sings, smiles and dances. She loves her teachers. She is our baby, our preemie, our only daughter. And we can't wait to see what her future holds! The sky is the limit, sweetheart. And I hope we can show her that.
But I can't finish this post without saying that our "sweet" 6 year old does have a feisty and sassy side that we are starting to see. We are getting ready for this wild ride!:) You go, Ceci!!!

Someone loves lunch?!?!?
Monthly "lunch with Dad" turns into "lunch with Papa" some months when Daddy is out of town. Papa to the rescue! Always! We are so thankful for him.

TALENT SHOW! Ceci insisted on being in this year's talent show and singing Moana. She had a friend join in, which ended up being one of her besties, Ramsey McCollum. Les got to participate as "Maui." They all did a great job!
Ceci and Mrs. Jenny Edwards, one of her kindergarten teachers, who sadly is moving this year. We will MISS her!
Ceci was one of five (out of 30) chosen for the best art in kindergarten for a competition.

Each student was required to bring something, make something, bake something, anything for this! Ceci and Dad came up up people (and penguins) from around the world. It turned out absolutely amazing! I was so impressed by these two.
