New Year, New School!! Loving PCS!!

We switched schools this year to PCS with Ceci going into 2nd grade and Les into kindergarten, and we couldn't be happier!! All that PCS offers in terms of a Christian World View, standard and researched curriculum, consistency, sports and much more has been such a positive change for our family!! And the kids are loving it!!

Aspen Ideas Festival 2018

JJ, JD and I went back to the Aspen Ideas Festival this summer and it was as great as ever. So many amazing speakers in a gorgeous place. Below is a brief description of the festival...

The Aspen Ideas Festival is the nation's premier, public gathering place for leaders from around the globe and across many disciplines to engage in deep and inquisitive discussion of the ideas and issues that both shape our lives and challenge our times. Some 450 presenters, 400 sessions, and 3,000 attendees comprise the annual Festival, launched in 2005, on the Aspen Institute's campus in Aspen, Colorado.

Traveling in style.;)  We chartered a Falcon 2000 and it was amazing! Our own flight attendant and all.:) Then a couple months ago Jonathan Jones bought one of his own.

The minute we touched down, we hopped on a golf cart with David Rubenstein, co-founder and co-executive chairman of The Carlyle Group, a global private equity investment company (one of the largest in the world). In fact they looked at acquiring Yak Mat during the process and JD actually asked him on the short golf cart drive what happened with that...! Hysterical. David said he was going to look into it. You snooze, you lose, David!!!:):)

What a cool guy, Doug McMillon, President and CEO of Walmart Inc. being interviewed by our friend, David Rubenstein.;) He reminded me of Jonathan in that he's a CEO who looked like a little kid.:):):)

Last but not least... Katie Couric (a former host on 3 huge networks ABC, CBS, NBC) interviewing James Comey, 7th Director of the FBI from 2013 to 2017 and was dismissed by President Trump for various allegations of wrongdoing.

We saw several speakers other than those above. There are ENDLESS speakers, options and topics!!

Ole Miss Hall of Fame Weekend!!

One of our great friends, Jonathan Nichols, got inducted into the M-Club Hall of Fame at Ole Miss this year, and Jonathan and I attended the reception in Oxford. He was a kicker at Ole Miss 2001-2004 and set 15 school records. He was the all-time leading scorer and career leader in field goals made. We are so proud of him!!

DAD. HUSBAND. SON. GRANDSON. BROTHER. MENTOR. BOSS. 

Jonathan Duhon is HUMBLE. No other adjective to describe him, well other than AWESOME. This man is THE best, THE most disciplined, THE most ethical, THE hardest working, THE ABSOLUTE SMARTEST person I know, and the kindest and most good-hearted person in the world. He amazes me daily with his ability to separate the stresses of his career with our home time... truly, he does it better than most of anyone I know. He sincerely tries his best, and he succeeds. His ability, his heart, his faith are boundless, and the children and I are SO SO SO fortunate to call him ours.
