I feel like I have longer gaps between posts these days! At night I'm flat out exhausted. But better late than never... but picture overload tonight! Lots of sweet baby pics here! AND the kiddos have just gotten terribly funny... belly laugh funny. These are the days, for sure.
The other night Daddy wanted to put Les to bed, and he wanted his "Mama, mama." He got upset and kept crying for me before we went upstairs, and Ceci said "Les, you're making Daddy feel bad." It was so cute!! She's PRECIOUS.
We took her into our church service for the first time last week to hear the band before taking her to the nursery during preaching. She LOVED it. The bands' members hands went up in the air, Ceci's hand went up in the air... they swayed, she swayed. She has always been a music and instrument lover!
A couple weeks ago, Daddy had to go to Houston on business for a few days. I was putting Ceci to bed and said "Ceci, do you want to say a prayer for Les..." She said, "no, for Daddy." "Dear Lord, I miss Daddy all of da week. Thank you for Daddy. I love him so much. Amen." Her exact words. She's so sweet.
Ceci doesn't lack self confidence. Everyone is "pretty like me." We saw a tiger in a book who was "perfect like me." Whew. Maybe Mommy is a bit overpraising her youngins'.... NEVER.:)
Les had a follow-up with an ENT last week (we couldn't get rid of some pesky fluid in his ears. Luckily at this visit we were all clear!!). Cecilia really wanted a check-up too. She told Dr. Hammett, "my heart is broken; I need a check-up." Well, of course, how could he say no? He checked her ears, nose and throat at no additional charge.:) Ha.
Today we were coming home from school (Mother's Day Out), and I always ask how their day was. Les just grunts or squeals, and Ceci either responds or looks aimlessly out of her window thinking about her blanket and pillow for upcoming naptime. Today, she responded. She said, "Oh, I just love my Lucy Kate. I like Parker too. Vera is so so sweet, and we eat together." Then, to my smiling heart, she said, "but I love my baby brother the best." Now actions speak louder than words. When we got home and he highjacked her blanket for naptime; things got real.
This morning we were walking down the stairs, and Ceci said "Mom, let me tell you a secret. We need to throw Les in the garbage, I smell poop."
Les is talking, talking, talking!! He is really doing a great job communicating and sounding out his words. The latest translations are below:

She wrote her name for the FIRST time at 3 years, 1 month old. Mam-ma taught her how to write the other letters in lower case. I didn't realize how damaging it is for kids to learn in all caps then have to un-teach that later! Thanks, Mam-ma! And good work, Ceci!!:)
